Magnolia Gallery originated
10 years ago in Tofino, as Islandfolk Gallery, moving to Cumberland
in 2005, where it continues its reputation for exceptional art and
small town friendly service, under the same owner, Kate Jones. Moving
the gallery to the quaint historic village of Cumberland, and opening
a Garden Centre, just seemed to dictate a new name, thus it became
Magnolia Gallery & Garden.
The gallery deals primarily in original art – beautiful landscapes,
contemporary art, figurative and still life. Our jewellery is handcrafted
silver, gold, pearls, semi-precious and precious stones, by gold & silversmiths
and master diamond setters. Our feature sculptor is Craig Benson, creator
of incredibly detailed marine wildlife subjects. His work is coveted
by collectors around the world, and is available only through Fine Art
Galleries. The gilding work by David Graff is gorgeous – platters,
vases, tiles and small landcapes in rich metallic old-world colours of
copper, silver and burnished golds.
The Garden Centre out the back of the gallery, enclosed by a funky rebar
and wood fence, holds a nice array of high quality plants, and some unusual
ones as well. We offer trees, shrubs, perennials and annuals, watched
over by some sweet cast creatures including dragons, budhas, gargoyles,
pigs, turtles, and more, all produced locally. We certainly enjoy working
in and showcasing the compliment of art produced by Island artists and
by nature, and our customers love it. The two come together nicely in a nook of the gallery where you'll find seeds, tools, gloves, hats, shoes, books, outdoor decor, and other cool gardening 'stuff'.
We offer purchase plans, art
on approval, and worldwide shipping. We are at Dunsmuir & 3rd in
downtown Cumberland. So please stop in for a visit, or contact us if
you have any questions, or would like us to email photos of current
stock/new arrivals, or if you would like to be on our email list for
upcoming shows.
